My Makeup Upgrade- November 2013 Edition

The idea of makeup upgrade is basically what makeup you wish you are using. For me, I didn't pick up these two for the sephora VIB sale because I currently have a powder and highlighter I need to use up.

My upgrade list :
Powder : Mac blot powder to ---->Nars light reflecting powder
Highlight : Mac soft and gentle to ---> Dior Amber Diamond

I would love to have these two in my collection in the future whenever I finish my current products (of which highlighter will take a pretty long time to finish )...... We will see about that.

Heard many good things about the Nars powder, being a fan of Nars myself I really want to try more Nars products. Such as their lipsticks, and eyeshadows !

Dior , always been a huge fan of Dior beauty. Their products are so pricy though.... But amber diamond is on my list. Hopefully they will re do their packaging in the future . I don't like how Dior's makeup has different packaging, for example, their Nude line has clear silver packaging , some newer blushes have black packaging, and transitional products have the deep blue packaging. I wish they are more consistent with their packaging like Chanel .

What's on your upgrade list ?

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette swatches & review

Cannot explain how disappointed i was when i
got this.

i have fair skin, mac nc 15. Let me tell you
these do NOT show up on my eyes !!!
these are hard to blend, powdery. The
shimmery colors again, do not show up,
i had to use my brush and going back and fourth to get some color payoff. BUT, they look the same on your eyes- bunch of shimmers.

the brush was not good either, didn't even bother to try the mascara.

this is going back to sephora
at $49, don't waste your money !

Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation Swatch and Review

Welcome!
I haven't done a review in a while, I'm back reviewing products!
This is going to be a review of  Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation  ( including Swatches).

First of all, I am NOT a fan of Kat Von D. Don't really care for her. I don't buy her products, even though I heard so many good things about them in the beauty community.

I got this foundation because of it's a full coverage foundation. However the bottom line is that this is not a foundation I really like. Here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
  • full coverage  ( you just need a tiny dot)
  • Great color ( perfect match for my skin)
  • price $34
  • pretty packaging, has a pump
  • good color selection
 Cons:
  • hard to blend, ( major turn off, I don't want to spend most of my time to blend this thing)
  • can look powdery if you put too much
  • doesn't control oil, will get oily through out the day!
In conclusion,  I don't really enjoy using it because of it's hard to blend. You really need to right tools to apply this foundation. However it is not a bad foundation, it's very good for it's price in my opinion.

Give it a try to decide your self!
